TWO RIDE ROUTES
EARLY ONLINE REGISTRATION:
REGISTRATION: 7:00 am, Friday, June 15th, 2018
ENTRY FEE: $20 per bike plus $10 for additional rider (Event open to the public. Entry fee included for Summit ticket holders.)
THE ROUTE: 236-mile San Juan Skyway loop
RIDING TIME: 6-9 hours (time allotted for stops)
Silverton is located in the heart of and Durango is nestled in the foothills of the San Juan Mountains and both are perfect starting points for the San Juan Skyway Charity Poker Run hosted by the S.T.R.O.N.G. Women of the Steel Horse Sisterhood. ROUTE 1 RIDERS can set out from Durango and head north on Highway 550 to Silverton. ROUTE 2 RIDERS can set out from Silverton and head north on Highway 550. Both routes takes riders over several mountain passes, each at altitudes of 11,000 feet or higher, and through historic mountain towns that have been frozen in time. You’ll find plenty of turn-of-the-century mining history in Silverton and Telluride as well as signs of ancient pueblo civilizations in both Mancos and Cortez. The route includes a stretch of road between Ouray and Silverton that’s known as the “Million Dollar Highway.” Riders will also pass through the towns of Placerville and Ridgway and will pass by some of Colorado’s most impressive peaks, including Mount Wilson and Mount Sneffels.
Stop at checkpoints along the way, pick up playing cards and choose one of the many locations along the way for lunch. At the end of the ride, the best poker hand wins a prize! PLUS so much more. You will need a valid motorcycle license.
