The Moto Expo Educational Curriculum – Durango, Colorado

The Women’s Motorcycle Summit is a Two-Part event beginning with 2-Days in Durango and culminating with a 5 Night – 4 1/2 Day stay in Silverton, Colorado. When motorcyclists register for the Women’s Motorcycle Summit, they are signing up for a multi-day intensive summit designed for All Women, All Ages, All Skill Levels and All Bikes.

The educational curriculum, developed around the “5 Tenets of Healthy Living, Healthy Riding” is designed to lead women to power up both their motorcycle skills and their life skills. Each of these courses corresponds to one or more of these 5 Tenets. We blend the spiritual and physical with the art of mechanics into an event with a program packed with motorcycle skills workshops, inspirational speakers, fun events and a sisterhood of encouragement in both riding and living.

Course Description

The Women’s Summit Cornering Skills Clinic was designed exclusively for this event and focuses on mastery of skills critical for successfully navigating virtually any type of corner.

You will improve your overall cornering skills, learn about conserving ground clearance, body positioning, throttle control, and traction management for successful cornering.

Build confidence in leaning and cornering on your motorcycle before tackling the twisties of Southern Colorado.

Classes will be offered for every level of rider designed to grow rider skills and abilities to safely and effectively navigate today’s roads on a motorcycle. Maximum of 10 riders per class. More information TBA.

Course Description

If you dread u-turns or are even slightly uncomfortable with maneuvering your motorcycle in tight spaces, this clinic will help you build the confidence and skills you need to look like a pro anywhere you go.

Riders who enroll in this clinic will develop the skills, confidence, and consistency to put their bike where they want, when they want – every time. You will have the opportunity to master precision vehicle control in advanced low-speed maneuvering as well as hazard response skills at higher speeds. You’ll join other participants in learning how to safely execute advanced techniques involving emergency braking, group riding, obstacle avoidance, and assertive low-speed control. Our small class size means you’ll get plenty of individual attention to help you master the techniques by the time you ride away from the clinic. This course is an excellent way to take your riding skills to the next level and improve your confidence on the road.

Dressed To Thrill Fashion Show

With a continuous increase of female riders and a higher demand for correctly fitted motorcycle gear, for all our wonderful curves and sizes, Katie Byrd (Durango Harley-Davidson), Jenna Stellar (Stellar Moto Brand) and Laura Smith (Worse for Wear)  will co-hostess the Women’s Motorcycle Summit Motorcycle Gear Fashion Show where the many worlds of women & motorcycling will collide.

The show will feature the latest in apparel from Harley-Davidson, Stellar Moto Brand, Worse for Wear, KLIM Apparel, Indian Motorcycle, BMW Motorad, Helite, just to name a few.

“With the overwhelming amout of comapanies involved, fashion show attendees will experience -“Dressed To Thrill.”, combining the seemingly separate worlds of, fashion, motorcycling and safety.

Open to the Public, the “Dressed To Thrill” Fashion Show is the first of it’s kind, says Joan Krenning, founder of the event, and is set from 7 – 9pm, in downtown Durango. Sponsored by Durango Harley-Davidson, Stellar Moto Brand, Worse For Wear, Helite and the Strater Hotel.
