“life happens….take the ride….take the trip….make the memories….never regret anything that made you smile”
Over the years Jessie has owned sixteen motorcycles and traveled tens of thousands of miles across the country in all directions through all kinds of weather in 35 states and wouldn’t change a thing about any of her experiences out on the road because good or bad they made her smile.
Somewhere off the beaten path in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin is where Jessie Walstad calls home. Its often hard to find her there though, her love for motorcycles and wanderlust keep her on the go almost as much as her 12 year old son Logan does.
A jack of all trades, master of none, Jessie has gone from owning her own cleaning business to bartending to being a Dental Hygienist and many things in between but if you ask her, she is just Jessie, Logan’s mom, and lover of all things outdoors and on two wheels.
Jessie’s motorcycle fascination began at a very early age when her dad used to put her up on the gas tank of his 1977 Kawasaki 650 and take her down the gravel country road they lived on. By age 7 Jessie was ripping up and down the alley behind her house on a homemade rigid framed mini bike with a 12 horse pull start motor and snowmobile throttle. Around age 12 she had begun grass dragging dirt bikes at her dad’s local off-road motorcycle club, winning a handful of trophies along the way.
By age 15 Jessie had accumulated 5 motorcycles (one of which her and her dad built together) and began hill-climbing on her first trip to the world-famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, where over half a million motorcyclists gather each year to share their passion of two-wheeled machines.
I am currently writing a book, Jessie Lee’s Guide to the Open Road Lifestyle, in hopes of sharing my experience and know how with the millions of up and coming riders out there on the road today. It is my dream to show them how to harness the sense of freedom and confidence that comes from conquering the world on 2 wheels. For the riders out there with miles under their belt I hope to entertain & enlighten with my mishaps and adventures! Let’s swap road stories and share some wind my friends.
My dad shared the secret with me over 25 years ago and it was the best thing he could have ever done. Now, 16 bikes and tens of thousands of miles later I want to pass this key to happiness along to the world.
